As a swiss girl, the need for a good hike every now and then is essential. Besides other activities such as Kayaking, Diving and Mountain Biking is Hiking always the cheapest option. I couldn’t find that many Hikes on Koh Phangan but this is what I found: Khao Ra (highest peak of Koh Phangan), Phaeng Waterfall, Bottle Beach, Haad Yuan & Haad Thian.

I chose the Hike to Bottle Beach which takes about 2 hours each way. Bottle Beach is located in the very north of the island. It took me around 15 minutes to get there by Motorbike from my Hostel Shiralea Backpackers Resort.

We parked our Motorbike at the end of the street that leads to Coconut Beach (Haad Khom). You will find plenty of other Bikes and really can’t miss it.

There are many signs to follow the Trail. Just make sure you don’t miss the first one after about the first 50 meters, otherwise, you end up at another beach. Than just always follow the blue and yellow marks. The Hike leads you through bushes and trees up on rocks through the jungle. It’s a very nice path which is half way up and half way down and doable for everyone with sneakers.

You can only reach the Bottle Beach by Boat or by the Hike. So besides the Resort guests are not that many people at the Beach. I really enjoyed the beach and still think it’s one of the best ones I have seen so far but my friend did not think so. Anyways, make your own opinion through the pictures linked down below. Since Bottle Beach has its own Resort and Bungalows you will find three restaurants with good food there.

The Beach is also known as a good snorkel spot which I found very bad. But if you want to give it a try you can rent the mask at the beach.

We decided to take the boat back since we were too lazy to hike back. The boat taxis are easy to find and every few minutes available. We paid 250 Thai Bath for two people to get back to Coconut Beach but most of the boat taxis try to charge you 150 Thai Bath each.

After you reached the Beach you take the stairs up on the left side of the beach. It takes you about 10 minutes to walk back to the Motorbike parking.

All in one we only came across a few other people during our hike which I found really relaxing. I did really enjoy the hike to Bottle Beach and spending the afternoon at the Beach. I would do it again and can defnetly recommend it.

At the end of the Trail you see this view over Bottle Beach.
