VISITING THE FLOATING VILLAGE IN SIEM REAP

In the tour offer of my hostel OneDerz in Siem Reap, the trip to the Floating Village called Kompong Phluk on the Tonle Sap was particularly eye-catching. The tour started at 3pm and ended after sunset on a boat on the Tonle Sap. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

THE HALF-DAY TOUR TO THE FLOATING VILLAGE KOMPONG PHLUK

The tour is offered everywhere. If it is not listed in your hotel or hostel then book through Tripadvisor. There are a lot of offers, I personally would choose the Half-Day Sunset Tour.

By boat we arrived at the Floating Village Kompong Phluk, it is a village mainly made up of fishermen. There, the scenery is suitable for film. The Cambodian children play in the water, the women cook in their houses and the men drive past you with their fishing boats.

The tours stop at floating restaurants where you can even see some crocodiles in cages (I do not support them). Personally, this tour has particularly touched me, because the life of the fishermen seemed so autonomous and not only put on for the tourists.

The highlight of the tour leads to the open Tonle Sap water. There the boats stop for a breathtaking sunset, which I have so rarely seen.

The tour is besides the obligatory Angkor Wat a MUST.
